Since then, she has devoted her career exclusively to aesthetic medicine. Julie received her Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP) from Sonoma State University in California, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) and a Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN). She is also a Public Health Nurse (PHN) and holds a certificate in Health Care Management (HCMT). Julie currently holds nursing licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Nevada. Julie has a special interest in teaching safe aesthetic injection techniques. She is a faculty member for PALETTE Resources, a speaker/trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute, and a member of Allergan's Advisory Board. She is also a Scientific Sessions Planning Committee (SSPC) member for the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) Annual Meeting and an Editorial Board member for Plastic Surgical Nursing. Julie has published articles in several medical journals and made presentations at various professional international meetings. She also provides individual injection training workshops through her company, JBK Aesthetics. She is also a past president for the North State Cancer League in Redding, California. Julie loves spending time with her husband and three children.
